6 months old!

Alex is already 6 months old!!!! Can you believe it? He had his 6 month well child check a couple of days ago, and he is doing great! His weight seems to be leveling off- he has only gained 1 pound in the past 2 months (compared to about 3 lbs. per month for the first 4 months of his life). The doctor was not concerned though since he is still in the 74th percentile for his weight. As for his length, he is still growing like a weed. He is in the 95th percentile for his length! He now eats sweet potatoes in addition to carrots and rice cereal. We tried oatmeal again last week (we had been avoiding it for a while because he initially developed a rash with it) and he seems to have an oatmeal allergy/intolerance since he developed an awful diaper rash. So, no more oatmeal for now. This week he gets to try green beans, and next week we will add a fruit! Pretty exciting :-) He has also had a bad cold, but he seems to be finally getting better. And he continues to be teething - lots of drooling and chewing - but no teeth yet! Today we are going to take a family trip to Dickinson to go to the rec center there so we can all go swimming.
